Nostalgia #12: Sarangani Highlands

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Photobucket

A friend downloaded pictures of Sarangani Highlands, a restaurant located on top of a hill, in her Facebook account with her fiance' the other week and browsing their photos put me back in time when my fiance' and I visited the place.

It was my fiance's second day here in the city and it was the first place that I thought of to take him for a lunch. There were no customers that time aside from us so it felt like it's a lunch date made exclusively for us. (",)

He loves the place so much because it reminds him of his city where you can see mountains from afar. Our city is surrounded by mountains and you can see it from the restaurant. Sarangani Bay can also be viewed from there and you can actually feel the gentle breeze from the bay. The resto is surrounded with beautiful plants too and these bonsai plants here were just some of them. Bonsai plants never fail to fascinate me that's why I made sure to get some snap shots.

Here's one!

Here's another one!

And another one!

That's Sarangani Bay! See the mountains?

We will certainly visit the place again soon...upon my fiance's return. (",)

I Can Wear the Uniform and Be A Wanna-Be Nursey

Monday, September 27, 2010

Had it been that I had continued with the nursing course I enrolled in, I could now be sporting those dickies medical uniforms. Does it sound like there’s regret there? Yeah, I felt that way after seeing my brother who is a nurse wearing his fashionable healthcare uniform. He dropped by here yesterday and showed us his new dickies medical uniform and it is really nice!

Medical scrubs used to look dull but now, they are becoming more fashionable as well as trendy. Thanks to those fashionable thinking people, now nurses or those people connected with the healthcare industry won’t be left out when it comes to looking cool and sporty.

Sigh! I could have been one of those wearing fashion scrubs. But hey! I’m still young; maybe it's not too late for me to get into the industry. But, oh well, I can buy some scrubs anytime and just wear them here at home – nurse or not. That would suffice, and be oh so nice!

Nostalgia #11: Babysitting Summer

My unico hijo, Yogi is now 7 years and 6 months old. Technically, it's been like 7 years since the last time I babysit a 4-month-old baby. So, babysitting my 4-month-old niece, Summer last weekend was kind of awkward for me, not to mention I was worried the first time my brother and SIL asked me for the favor. Babies are fragile, thus, the worry on my part but after holding Summer for a few minutes, my worries disappeared. I was just being a worrywart, I guess, as I always am. Hee hee. Good thing, Summer was such a good girl in those two days. She never gave her Tita a problem. Good girl, Sum! Hugs.

That's Summer! Isn't she a cutie?

That's her granny holding her, my mom. Summer is still super cute even when she yawns and sleeps. What lovely red and pouting lips she got too! LOL.

Education + Determination = Success

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I am a bachelor’s degree holder and was thinking of acquiring a masters degree but I got a good job soon after finishing my degree, thus, I had to set aside the thought of any more school at that time. My brother went through with his though, but wasn’t able to finish it because of time constraints. He was already working then and taking classes after work. His time and energy simply didn’t allow him to continue. That was 10 years ago and he could have been a masters degree holder now had he continued with it.

Having a masters degree gives you lots of advantages opportunity and career wise. It can be difficult but you must be determined to reach your goal. To get an MBA at some schools, you must take a CAT 2011 exam to gain admittance to their program and one must prepare themselves for that with the proper tools and study materials. The test covers a wide range of topics such as Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Reasoning, English and General Knowledge.

That may sound daunting but if you've already been to college and got your BA, you're familiar with the territory. Just believe in yourself, prepare for the challenge and you will be good to go.

Nostalgia #10: New Look

If you frequent this blog, I guess you will really notice its new look. So, how do you find it? As I've posted previously, it wasn't in my plan to change the layout nor it crossed my mind even once. But my dear friend Mabelle surprised me a couple of days ago, and this is it. She sent the code through e-mail and that really made my day! I think this is a belated birthday gift. She didn't tell me but I guess it is. (",)

And this was created by Femikey. You may check the credits on my left side bar for her link if you feel like giving your blog a transformation. I really love my blog's new look!!!

Goodbye to my previous layout...

Coming Soon!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

It's been months or perhaps a year or a couple of years already when I installed this layout. I have this feeling that it was last year but I am not so sure. Blame it on my memory gap! LOL. Changing it didn't cross my mind after all this time. I don't know, maybe the itch is not there yet. Sometimes the itch comes and presto! I just can't stop it from happening. Hehe.

Anyway, a surprise came to my e-mail the other day from my dear friend Mabelle. She was supposed to only get a layout for my cousin, Prily only to discover that she also got a surprise for me! What a nice surprise it is and that's giving me a new layout for this blog. She really is sweet, as always.

So soon, this blog will have its new look. The creator is still on the verge of fixing everything but she'll be done pretty soon and I can hardly wait! (",)

The Chance is There; You've Just Got to Take It

Friday, September 10, 2010

Some people believe that going into the investment venue is taking a risk. Certainly it is since you never know what to expect. An investment can be a make it or break it scenario, or be of no gain at all. But nothing will happen if you will not take a risk and just continue to entertain negative thoughts. How can you know if you will succeed in such if you won't try at all. Besides, one always learns from experience.

So when was the last time you thought of investing? Or perhaps you are already on the verge of doing it yet are still indecisive about the process. If so, you might want to learn about gold bullion investment and its advantages. I was in awe when I found out about it and how successful a venture it can be. Many people have already been successful at it and perhaps we could be the next. But nothing’s going to happen if we just sit there and talk about it. It's time to get going and get rich!

Nostalgia #9: Post Bday Bash w/ the Gurlz

Photobucket

Yeah, I know my nostalgia entry this week is late but my apologies, I was so busy yesterday and I had no time to post one. But better late than never, right? Hee hee.

Anyway, me and my girlfriends often celebrate our birthdays together on or before the actual date. We had it two days after my actual birthday because that's the only time that our schedules met. We just ate out at this Chinese Resto famous for their delish crabs. The name - Grab A Crab!

And here we are after feeding our tummies. From left: Judy, Me, Hazel and Elsie.

We were fascinated with their gigantic menu!

After dinner, we went to a friend's office and had our share of their fav chips, Lays. I am not so into chips so I just had me a few bites.

...and Durian fruit. Yes!!!

We parted ways at almost midnight feeling so full. Thank you for the great time, gurlz! See you all again soon!

Take 5, and Smoke 'Em if Ya Got 'Em!

Thursday, September 9, 2010

I don’t smoke at all but watching someone who smokes using one of those hookah pipes is something I really find fascinating. Maybe that's because I am not accustomed to seeing people do that. I haven’t actually seen one being used for real; I've only seen it in the movies. But it creates an aura of sophistication and gives elegance to the user – one reason why I think it’s mostly been used by the rich and famous; until now, that is, because I’ve seen how cheap it is to buy hookah tobacco online.

I also discovered one thing that I really find interesting is that having caviar while using the hookah is chic. They're considered the perfect pair for true enjoyment and stimulation of the senses. Interesting indeed, huh? Wow! Smoking hookah pipes while having a share of that tasty caviar certainly does sound cool. Have you tried it yourself? Well, if you are a smoker, give it a thought, but if not, then maybe you can at least have some caviar.

Nostalgia #8: Me @ 35

Yeah, as much as I wanted to stop if from happening but it is simply unstoppable. LOL. I turned a year older yesterday but hopefully, a year wiser too. I still have to figure that out. (",)

I only had a simple dinner celebration with the whole family unlike last year where my good friends and of course my fiance' BA were here to celebrate it with me. That's why I thought of making it simple this year because my BA won't be here anyway. How I wish he was with me last night but what can I do? But still, it was special and even though he wasn't here with me, he made it sure that his presence was felt and not just because of the phone calls but because of these gifts too that he ordered online and delivered right at my doorstep.

There they are...the gifts of love. (",)

Chocolate Mousse cake from Red Ribbon. He knows it's my fav flavor.

Aside from calling me his little anghel, he also calls me his little kitten (meeeoooow!) that's why he chose this cutie hello kitty picture frame too. I didn't know why he chose it until he told me. I forgot about my being his li'l kitty. Hee hee.

And the card. That was not his handwriting, okay? He just had to send his message through email to the online shop and they're the one responsible for writing it into the card.

Thanks again for the gifts, Honey. Bunch of hugs and kisses for yah! Mwaaahuuugs!
