Life is What You Make It, So Make the Best of It

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine.

Life has its ups and downs but I‘ve always believed that “there is always a rainbow after the rain.” I have always loved that phrase and isn’t it true? It is one of those positive quotes that motivates me and keeps me moving whenever difficulties come my way.

Like everyone else, I’ve had my fair share of trials, but I am the type who doesn’t dwell on the negative side of things. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and God will not give us problems we can’t handle.

To tell you a part of my life, I became a widow at age 30. My husband who died of CRF at 30 years old left me with a 3-year-old son who is now 10. That was a part of my life that devastated me, but I know I had to move on and I did.

It has been almost seven years since he passed and things have greatly changed. I am now married again to a good man for two years. He brought me here to the U.S. from the Philippines together with my son in the fall of 2010. And coming from a tropical country, everything is new to me especially the weather. But I embraced it all and my life has been so exciting and happy ever since.

I’ve met people, discovered new places, experienced different types of weather, sampled different cuisines, etc. I’ve also learned how to drive here. I never got to do it in my home country because of fear. I never had the guts to do it, and more so, I didn‘t have to do it because we have our public transportation so basically, I could go wherever I wanted to go without the need to drive. But I had to do it here. I am proud to say that I overcame my fear and got my driver’s license last year.

See? I may have lost a great man, but God gave me another one. So, who says life ain’t fair?

Those trials and adversities made me who I am now. I am more than happy and contented, and I feel so blessed. And I am always into people and companies who celebrate good things in life despite the odds, choosing optomism like Allstate Good Life. I salute them. They’re simply awesome!

I’d love to hear from others who have faced such as I and were blessed to have overcome adversity with a positive attitude and a will to push the bad aside to move on to a brighter tomorrow. Please feel free to share your stories in the comment section below and I'd be glad to read it. Enjoy life!
